FO Friday: Monkey Socks
Yes, yes, I know. I actually finished these a while ago but I've been so busy that I haven't had time to post about even the progress I'd made!
So finally - my first pair of knitted socks, Monkey in Indian Rose coloured Crazy Zauberball.

I was very surprised--and pleased!--to find that they came out close to matching, going from various shades of purple down the leg to a bright pinkish red toward the toe. It's a shame you can't really see it in the photo, but they are very close. I didn't use nearly the whole Zauberball - there was plenty left over, enough to make some matching accessories... if I ever get round to it! I am very small, though, and if anything they are still too big. I hope they don't stretch too much in the wash. If they do, they will become very comfy indoors lazy-socks.
After previously debating the methods for sock knitting I opted for DPNs. Partly because I happened to have some in the correct size anyway, but I don't regret my decision. They seem really daunting to use at first and I'm baffled as to why I never managed to poke myself in the eye, but they get easier as you get past the first few rows until they eventually become second nature to use. I wondered if I would find 'normal' knitting hard after spending so long on the socks!
